Sitting inside instead of outside on a super nice day cause I am not feeling so hot. But listening to DJ part/parcel is making me feel better. Like 80's weird b-side space disco better.

I really want to use my new helmet...

The set, designed by Jacques Lagrange

A replica of the set from a 2009 exibit at the Centquartre in Paris

While trying to work out some landscaping ideas the set of Villa Arpel from the Jacques Tati film, Mon Oncle, came to my attention. The film is a non-materialistic view of the new French modernism and American style consumerism of the 1950's, but the Arpel's garden is inspiring to say the least. I doubt I could keep all that gravel straight, especially as I am not as crazy about cleaning as Madame Arpel appears to be.

I went to the garden center yesterday looking for something to install in my planter in front of my house. I am getting tired of looking at the dandelions and the snow on the mountain (my friend Shelley always sings "snow on the mountain" to the tune of "Smoke on the Water") but I am a gardening novice. I have planted a few flowers but I always let it go back to it's natural state (a.k.a. weeds). Anyhow, it took a while to find out what this one is actually called but it is Ageratum, also known as floss flower. I got a sort of purply colored variety and now fancy myself a gardener. I haven't actually planted them yet but look how pretty!

John Will

John Will what? That is some of John's own punny self-referential humor but don't let it fool you. He's nobody's dad. Here is a link to an article written by Chris Cran about John Will for Canadian Art magazine. The two have been friends forever and are two of my favorite artists and people. You can check out Chris's work on-line at Trepanier Baer gallery and John's is unfortunately difficult to find on the web. Kind of like him on most evenings. Next time you see him out at an opening you can ask him.

John Will and his double exposed polaroids;
Chris Cran trying to melt your heart!

Here are a couple of shots from the new V magazine for July with photography by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott...

The second shot is eerily similar to a shot we did for a swimwear story for We Like We Love magazine. I will post it when it's up!

I want this Miu Miu dress!!

I can't wait to get my bike out!

I recently moved to a neighborhood a little further out but with a bike lane. I am going to use it and check out a new store called Bike Bike on 17th ave and see what kind of baskets I can get for it. I might have to ride down to Eau Claire and see about getting an electric motor installed so I can get back up the hill.

Aw! Gucci!

This is where I will be for the rest of the day trying to wrap my head around spring fashions in a winter climate . Is it happy hour yet?

This is what I assume is a press shot from the movie April in Paris which I am now trying to find and watch. It makes me wish I had poodles! Please note her perfectly timed underwear-as-outerwear/sheer trend.

The Celine Outfit

It is so nice in real life and is half price. Then again, I think
I am already comitted to getting some leather pieces made for fall. The silhouette is perfect though!
I need to find me some carpet.

Bacon is nice

This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. This is from my new favorite website, Bacon Today. Lookit how good it looks cooked!

Maybe I am just hungry.
It has been raining for days.
